The name comes from “Bliss + Escape”, meaning “a blissful getaway”. A perfect definition for this seating system designed by Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba, which embodies the essence of modern-day comfort and well-being. The Blisscape sofa and pouf are in fact defined by an elegant, sculptural leather structure that serves as the base for soft, welcoming cushioning. They are characterized by generous padding, resting on a Pelle Frau® leather base that appears to float just a few inches above the floor. The Blisscape collection is modular and customizable, offering multiple configurations to suit any space or lifestyle needs.
Ludovica Serafini + Roberto Palomba revisit the Blisscape sofa system, rethinking it with an even greater focus on comfort and completeness. The Blisscape Deep modular sofa enhances the sense of relaxation thanks to increased seat depth and the 45° angle of the curved modular armchair, designed to optimally support taller users or those who prefer an even more relaxed posture. The tall vertical armrest emphasizes the sofa’s characteristic “enveloping” effect, creating an almost alcove-like feel.
It consists of a large cushion folded outward, resting on a rigid structure upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather that wraps around the side of the sofa. The armrest can also be equipped with a mechanism to adjust its inclination. The upholstery can be entirely in Pelle Frau® leather, in the various types available in the catalog, or in a version that combines Pelle Frau® leather with fabric. This evolution transforms the asymmetrical modular Blisscape Deep sofa into a customizable island that naturally adapts to different needs and settings, offering an even more immersive and refined lounge experience.

Noted for their exhaustive quality standards, the company uses a 21-step leather tanning process (vs. industry standard ranging from 12-15 steps) where the full-grain leather is dyed through, so a surface scratch won’t reveal a lining underneath. 95% of Poltrona Frau’s products are made by hand.
The Pelle Frau® leather tanning processes are exclusively combined with chrome treatments, which guarantee greater chemical and biological stability, to preserve the softness and flexibility of the leathers. Selected and produced by the finest quality Italian tanneries, Pelle Frau® leather is only “admitted” to the production process after it has passed a series of tests in the Poltrona Frau laboratories: from sensory tests to evaluate its hand, touch, colour, appearance and choice, to physical and mechanical tests that guarantee its impermeability, breathability and resistance to rubbing and stains.
